Welcome to an insight into life onboard the Subsea Viking. This website is maintained by the wessels crew, who got together to buy the Domain and a place on the net . There are various pictures of the vessel and crew also of the many places she has visited worldwide This site also includes links to crew email addresses and homepages, there is a guest book - so please use it !  Subsea Viking
Subsea Viking was buildt by UMOE Sterkoder in Kristiansund, Norway. She was delivered to Eidesvik AS in May 1999, and Subsea7 has chartered the vessel for 5 years. Recently the contract was extended out 2005. In full operation the vessel crew is 20 strong and manned by Norwegians for the time being. The project personnel are mainly British and in spite of the several nationalities on board, the working environment is very good. Crew rotations are every four weeks when working in the North Sea, every six weeks when working further a-field and crewchange take place by helicopter if the vessel is not in port. Subsea Viking has worked on the Gulf of Mexico, the west coast of U.S, west of Shetland and in the Nort sea. Common work carried out by Subsea Viking includes ROV and inspection operations, cable laying and mattress installation - although the vessel is also capable of many other subsea activities.
 A New Crew Member
December sees Subsea Viking nearing completion of yet another successful, safe year’s work for Clients including B.P. and Statoil. Throughout the year both Marine crew and Subsea7 Project personnel have endeavoured to maintain and add to the Vessel’s welfare fund. Along with the crew, Eidesvik, Subsea7 and our Clients B.P. and Statoil have all contributed to the fund in recognition of the Vessel’s excellent safety performance. Although this money is used to benefit all personnel onboard, the crew decided that some of the funds should be used to benefit others. Follow this link to read more : A New Crew Member
